Necklace for Tincal lab Challenge 2018 "Jewelry and Technology"

"As a result of an increasingly digital world, our daily lives have become disengaged from touch. Reading print books is becoming an endangered activity being replaced with new forms of communication and informing. However, memory and meaning are created from our tactile experiences and technology’s new tools can never offer the intimate sensory experience of paper reading. Meissner’s Corpuscles is a celebration of touch, paper and print. A harking back to the past in an electronic culture. Using a traditional intaglio press Christine Cook creates intricately embossed prints. The altered surfaces invite touch, allowing for a direct interactive sensory experience."
